Harwich String Quartet for Cape Cod Weddings

Live strings for harbor-side ceremonies, beach club cocktail hours and every Cape Cod celebration in between.

Abstract Background

Cape Cod Ceremonies Deserve Live Strings

Harwich weddings have a setting most couples only dream about: quiet harbors, south-facing beaches on Nantucket Sound and summer evenings that stay light well past dinner. A Harwich string quartet from the Party Factor String Ensemble adds music that matches the scenery, elegant and warm without ever feeling stiff.

Our players trained at the New England and Boston Conservatories and play everything from baroque and classical to jazz, rock and pop. Book a quartet, trio, duo or solo violinist for your ceremony and cocktail hour, and ask about any song that matters to you. The ensemble can learn most songs by request.

About Party Factor

Harbors, Beaches and Summer Light

Harwich is a town of harbors. Wychmere, Saquatucket and Allen Harbor give Harwich Port its postcard views, and venues like the Wychmere Beach Club put a ceremony right at the water's edge. Inland, inns, private homes and family properties along quiet roads give couples the kind of relaxed Cape Cod wedding that feels personal rather than staged.

Strings fit that easygoing elegance. A quartet on a harbor lawn or a solo violin at a backyard ceremony brings a sense of occasion without making anything feel formal. For outdoor settings we plan carefully around sun, wind and sea air: shaded positions for the players, a stable surface and a covered fallback in case the weather turns.

Ocean breezes also change how sound travels, so we think about where guests are seated and where the players should be so every row hears the processional clearly.

From Classical to Coastal Favorites

Our song list covers every part of the ceremony: Bach, Handel and Pachelbel for the processional, Wagner's Bridal Chorus or Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary for the entrance, and Mendelssohn or Handel's Hornpipe for the recessional. Plenty of Cape Cod couples prefer something lighter, and string arrangements of pop and rock songs make a breezy, modern alternative.

During cocktail hour, the ensemble moves easily between classical pieces, jazz standards and familiar favorites while guests enjoy raw bar and harbor views. It keeps the mood relaxed and the energy up while the wedding party finishes photos.

If you want the party to keep going after dinner, the Party Factor band can take over for the reception. You plan the whole day's music with one team, or book the strings on their own.

Planning Music for a Cape Cod Wedding Weekend

Many Harwich weddings are really wedding weekends, with guests renting houses in Harwich Port, Chatham and Dennis, riding the Cape Cod Rail Trail and spending the day on the beach before the ceremony. Your music can follow that rhythm: unhurried prelude music as guests arrive in summer clothes, a clear and joyful entrance and a celebratory recessional that sends everyone straight to the cocktails.

Summer traffic over the bridges is a fact of Cape life, and we plan for it. Our musicians build in generous travel time on busy weekends and arrive early enough to set up, tune and settle before the first guest takes a seat.

Fall is a beautiful time to marry on the Cape, too. A September or October ceremony brings softer light, quieter beaches and cooler evenings, and strings feel especially at home in that season.

Do you perform in Harwich and elsewhere on Cape Cod?

Yes. The Party Factor String Ensemble performs in Harwich, Harwich Port and throughout Cape Cod, including Chatham, Brewster, Dennis and Hyannis. Send us your date and venue and we will confirm availability.

Can you play an outdoor ceremony by the water?

Yes. For waterfront and beach ceremonies the players need shade, a flat and stable surface, and a covered backup in case of rain. Sun, wind and salt air are hard on string instruments, so we plan placement with you and your venue in advance.

What size ensemble works best for a Cape Cod wedding?

For a large lawn or ballroom, a string quartet gives the fullest sound. For a backyard, inn or smaller ceremony, a trio, duo or solo violinist is often perfect. We are happy to recommend a size once we know your venue and guest count.

Can the ensemble learn our song?

In most cases, yes. The ensemble can learn most songs by request, whether that is a pop song for your entrance or a family favorite for the recessional. Let us know early so there is time to prepare.

How far ahead should we book for a summer date?

Summer weekends on the Cape book early, so reach out as soon as you have your date and venue. We will confirm availability and send you a quote.
